### Lesson Plan for Christian Religious Studies: God Saves
**Grade:** Primary 5
**Duration:** 40 minutes
**Objectives:**
1. To understand that God is a savior in times of trouble.
2. To identify stories from the Bible where God saves His people.
3. To reflect on personal experiences where they have felt God's saving power.
4. To inspire trust and faith in God's power to save.
**Materials:**
1. Bible
2. Chart paper and markers
3. Crayons/colored pencils
4. Visual aids (pictures of biblical stories)
5. A picture of a lifeboat or lifejacket (optional)
**Lesson Outline:**
### Introduction (5 minutes)
1. **Greeting and Opening Prayer:**
- Start with a simple prayer asking for guidance and understanding.
- Prayer (example): "Dear God, thank You for bringing us together today. Help us to understand how You save us and protect us. Amen."
2. **Icebreaker:**
- Ask a few students to share a situation where they needed help and someone helped them.
- Link this to how God helps us in bigger and more amazing ways.
### Main Content (25 minutes)
1. **Bible Story Discussion: (10 minutes)**
- Select and briefly narrate two or three Bible stories that illustrate God's saving power. Suggestions include:
- **Story of Noah's Ark:** Genesis 6–9. God saved Noah and his family from the flood.
- **Story of Daniel in the Lion's Den:** Daniel 6:16-23. God saved Daniel from the lions.
- **Story of the Parting of the Red Sea:** Exodus 14:21-31. God saved the Israelites from the Egyptians.
- Use visual aids or pictures to make the stories more engaging.
2. **Class Discussion: (10 minutes)**
- Ask students:
- "How did God save Noah/Daniel/the Israelites?"
- "What might have happened if God did not save them?"
- Encourage students to think about what these stories tell them about God's power and love.
3. **Personal Reflection & Sharing: (5 minutes)**
- Ask students to take a moment to think about a time when they felt protected or saved.
- Ask a few volunteers to share their experiences with the class.
### Activity (8 minutes)
1. **Drawing Activity:**
- Provide students with crayons/colored pencils and drawing paper.
- Ask them to draw a scene from one of the Bible stories discussed or draw a picture that shows God saving someone.
### Conclusion (2 minutes)
1. **Sharing and Showcasing:**
- Allow a few students to share their drawings with the class and explain their pictures.
2. **Recap & Closing Prayer:**
- Recap the key points: God saves His people out of love and power.
- Close with a prayer of thanks and trust.
- Prayer (example): "Dear God, thank You for always being there to save and help us. Help us to trust in You. Amen."

- Completion and explanation of the drawing activity.
**Extension Activities:**
- Homework: Ask students to write a short paragraph about a time they saw someone helping others (acting like how God helps us).
